Sir Alex Ferguson made a quip at Arsenal's expense ahead of the Premier League's return on Friday as the legendary Manchester United boss joked that the Gunners would be 'relegated' this season.
Throughout his time as United manager, Arsenal were on Ferguson's most fierce rivals, coming up against Arsene Wenger for more than two decades. Ferguson often got the better of the Gunners, though lost out to them in league title races in 1998, 2002 and 2004.
Ferguson retired from management in 2013, but remains a director at the club and is frequently seen around Old Trafford.

And on Friday, Ferguson was caught on camera talking with jockey and Arsenal fan Frankie Dettori. And when asked on how he thought Arsenal would do this season, he joked: "A quote familiar to Frank, Arsenal are getting relegated this year. He told me that himself!"
Both Arsenal and United have struggled to recapture their days of their former managers in recent years, with both finishing outside of the top four last season. Both will be trying to break back into Champions League qualification this season, a far cry from the days of Ferguson and Wenger.
