Local representatives have called on the Department for Infrastructure to "reconsider its decision not to facilitate a site meeting" at a junction known for crashes.
Sinn Féin MLA Danny Baker has requested a meeting with the Department on efforts to upgrade the Cutts Junction on McKinstry Road. The location has been the scene of recent road accidents, with local people airing their fears when driving near it.
The West Belfast MLA said: "I have again written to the Department of Infrastructure on the Cutts Junction and efforts to secure the necessary funding to upgrade it.

"It is disappointing they have not committed to a further onsite meeting, particularly as there has been a number of road accidents at this dangerous junction over recent months
"This is a very serious issue that clearly needs to be addressed quickly, and I have again asked the Department to reconsider its decision not to facilitate a site meeting.
"I will continue to urge the Department to ensure this junction is upgraded to make it safer for drivers and help prevent collisions."
Belfast Live contacted the Department on March 16 for a comment on MLA Danny Baker's statement this week.
Previously, a spokesperson for the DFI told Belfast Live that it is "aware of the public concern about right turn facilities at the intersection of McKinstry Road and The Cutts".
"The solution found to address this issue involves full control of right turn movements within the signal phases," they added.
"The detailed design of such was completed last year and acquisition of land is progressing. Officials are also working on preparing the contract documents for the construction works.
"Subject to the availability of resources, this will allow the Department to advance the scheme upon satisfactory completion of the land acquisition process."
