Singer Sinitta Malone has hinted her long-term music producer pal Simon Cowell will bring back his beloved X Factor 'saying it's 'his heart and desire' for the show to return to our screens.
Since it's launch in 2004 The X Factor helped launch the careers of chart-topping artists including One Direction, Little Mix, Olly Murs and Leona Lewis.
But with dwindling ratings of the main weekend shows and spin-off shows X Factor: Celebrity and X Factor: The Band the plug was pulled and it has been has been off air since 2018 when Dalton Harris was crowned the winner.
Speaking on ITV ’s Good Morning Britain, 58-year-old Sinitta, who made regular appearances on the show, said: “I do know it is Simon’s heart’s desire to bring the show back.
“I have no idea which channel it will be on, I have no idea who will be doing it with him, but since we did it before I think it should be us.”
Interviewer GMB presenter Charlotte Hawkins probed: “What Simon wants he pretty much gets so if he wants it to happen, we can expect it to be on the way.”
Sinitta confirmed: “Pretty much.
“It would be fun. It is a great outlet for talent and I think people have missed it now.”
And viewers and potential The X Factor contestants may be in luck as it was announced at the end of 2019, Cowell signed a five-year deal with ITV, which will see his shows appear exclusively on the channel until at least 2024.
Speaking at the time Cowell said: "I am thrilled our relationship with ITV is to continue for the foreseeable future. ITV has always been home to Britain’s Got Talent, The X Factor – and me! – and this long-term commitment shows mutual respect in our partnership."
Since axing The X Factor after a 17 year run the media mogul has been freed up to spend much time with his young son Eric and American socialite fiance Lauren Silverman.
The pair, who got engaged in January this year after getting together in 2013, could be calling on his long-term friend and former flame Sinitta to help them tie the knot.
Speaking about their forthcoming nuptials, Sinitta said: “I am ordained; I could officiate if Simon and Lauren would like me to.
“It is a legal situation so the offer is out there and now it is up to them.”
The latest reports Simon and Lauren are looking to host a intimate ceremony in their new Cotswolds home, according to OK!
