Two Singleton teachers have been named winners of a prestigious teaching award.
Australian Christian College Singleton teachers Eliza De Hoogh and Kara Williams have been named winners of The Educator's Rising Stars award.
The award showcases young education professionals across Australia making an impact in the early stages of their career.
Senior school teacher and teaching and learning team leader Ms De Hoogh was recognised for her commitment in developing and implementing Canvas, the school's online learning platform.
She enabled the school to transition into online learning during the COVID-19 lockdown.
As the facilitator of Canvas, she trained staff on how to use the system, leading meetings and targeted professional learning sessions for staff, as well as strategies and best practice for remote learning.
"Establishing Canvas has added tremendous value to the learning environment for both students and teachers and allows our students to take ownership of their learning," said Ms De Hoogh.
"After taking the time to set it up and train our staff, seeing the platform work so well for our school is extremely rewarding.
"I want to keep making a positive impact within the education sector and delivering only the best environment for our students."
Ms Williams developed a formal wellbeing approach for the junior and senior school for long term student wellbeing.
She also revamped the school's canteen menu, introduced a Junior School Lunch Club and developed the school's student wellbeing referral program.
"Wellbeing for both teachers and students is so important to me because I believe it's key to developing a healthy learning environment," said Ms Williams.
"Our wellbeing approach will ensure students are being supported, helping them with their personal development and ongoing education."
