A single mum has revealed that it is "frightening" struggling to afford food. Lowri Williams says "you feel like you’re actually in the gutter" being unable to afford to feed your child.
Lowri, 52, ran an events business until it collapsed in 2017 along with a relationship breakdown. She is one of the up to 11.3 million Brits who have faced hunger in the past year because of a lack of money.
A study by the country’s biggest foodbank charity, the Trussell Trust, has found 14% of the population struggled to put meals on the table as the cost-of-living crisis tightened its grip. While that percentage would mean at least 9.38 million have been hungry over a lack of cash, the network’s analysts put the figure at more than 11 million, reports MirrorOnline.
