SCCL has posted a turnover of ₹26,000 crore in the just concluded 2021-22 financial year by registering considerable growth in coal production and dispatches.
According to a statement issued by the coal company, the growth achieved by the company in terms of turnover was 47% as the turnover posted in 2020-21 was ₹17,669 crore. In production, the growth rate was 28.6%, in dispatches it was 35.1% and in the overburden removal it was 20.4%.
Of the total coal dispatches, SCCL has supplied over 53.65 million tonnes (MT) to thermal power stations, including 12.8 MT to Telangana followed by nearly 6.7 MT to Andhra Pradesh Genco, about 21.9 MT to 16 NTPC thermal stations in different States, 8.2 MT to Karnataka, nearly 2.6 MT to Tamil Nadu Genco and about 2.98 MT to Maharashtra Genco.
Besides, Singareni has also supplied about 11.88 MT coal to cement, ceramic, paper, sponge iron and other industrial units.
Of the 20 opencast mines, 14 have achieved over 100% of the target with IK-1A Incline of the Srirampur Area at the top with achievement of 188%.
The 2×600 megawatt thermal power project of the company has generated 9,353 million units (MU) of energy in 2021-22 and supplied 8,808 MU of it to the Telangana State Grid. The 219 MW capacity solar plants established at eight locations by the company have saved ₹130 crore electricity bills to the company by supplying 266.37 MU energy to the grid.
Meanwhile, the company has scaled down the coal production target for 2022-23 to 70 MT from 72 MT fixed earlier. It has also decided to scale up to solar power generation to 1,500 MW capacity from the 300 MW under implementation now.
