Singaporean officials have announced that they will be conducting their own investigation into the recent collapse of the Francis Scott Key Bridge. This investigation will be carried out in addition to the support being provided to U.S. authorities.
The bridge collapse occurred when the ship named the Dali struck the bridge while traveling under a Singaporean flag. The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore has confirmed that they are collaborating with the ship's management company, Synergy Marine Group, to provide information to the U.S. Coast Guard for their investigation.
In a statement released on Wednesday, the agency revealed that Singapore's Transport Safety Investigation Bureau will be conducting an independent investigation into the incident. The purpose of this investigation is not to assign liability but rather to identify key lessons that can be learned for the future.
