Ireland has lost one of its “greatest and most gifted composers, songwriters and performers” following the death of Sinead O’Connor at the age of 56, the country’s president has said.
The Grammy-winning singer was propelled to international stardom in 1990 with her version of the hit ballad Nothing Compares 2 U.
