Animal prints have long been heralded as neutrals. Now most people immediately jump to the classic leopard pattern, but zebras, snakes and even tigers are also rightfully included in this wild bunch. Naturally, you probably already have a slew hiding out in your closet. Come January 29, it'll officially be the Year of the Snake so your go-to snakeskin pieces are sure to get more of a workout. Instead of just wearing the same old items over and over again, you should consider diversifying your portfolio with a few new must-haves.
There are what you might call traditional snakeskin prints consisting of a constellation of black, white and beige. That consistency makes it easier to mix and match between brands. Don't rule out funkier interpretations, though. See KNWLS' more segmented approach or Atlein's almost neon blue turtleneck. You can also go a subtler route. Opt for more tonal creations, like Dodo Bar Or's snake-effect midi skirt, Mango's flared trousers or Reformation's pumps in a moody dark olive.
