Householders will be glad to know there is a great way to dry your laundry without the need for expensive heating.
Dehumidifiers suck the moisture out of the air leaving more room for the damp from the clothes, but eliminate any condensation, dampness and mould which can come from drying laundry in the colder months. They’re much cheaper to run than tumble dryers, which cost around £1.30 per hour to run, while a decent dehumidifier will cost just 1.2p.
While they’re not as quick to work as tumble dryers, they’re much more energy efficient and you could end up saving yourself hundreds of pounds in household bills over a year, reports Birmingham Live. Lots of dehumidifiers now even have a laundry mode, which runs the appliance at its highest fan speed and aims to lower the humidity by 40%. Not only does that work by pulling in moist air, it also pushes out warmer air than the room temperature in colder months.
