A simple act at a nail salon helped turn a homeless woman's life around.
A young woman came to Whitechapel Centre, a leading homeless and housing charity in the city, after experiencing domestic abuse. The abuse meant the woman was homeless for most of her adult life.
After commenting on how nice her Pathways worker's nails were, Whitechapel took her to L1 Nails on Lord Street for a manicure. The lovely gesture then led to the woman making a huge decision on the next steps of her life.

A spokesperson from Whitechapel Centre said: "This may seem a simple act, but she felt valued and cared for, her self confidence grew and she is now talking about returning to college to complete a hairdressing course."
The Whitechapel Centre is the leading homeless and housing charity for the Liverpool region. They work with people who are sleeping rough, living in hostels or struggling to manage their accommodation.
They are committed to helping people find and maintain a home and learn the life skills essential for independent living.
