Simon Pegg has said that the heartbreaking stories coming out of Ukraine have left Brits "confronted".
The 52-year-old actor has teamed up with Disasters Emergency Committee to help raise money for the families whose lives have been turned upside down.
Simon, expressed his understanding for those feeling helpless in the UK, and told Save The Children: "The images and stories coming out of Ukraine of civilians caught up in the conflict are heartbreaking. It can be hard to know what to do when confronted with so much suffering.
"But there is something we can do to help. By donating to the DEC, you’re helping local aid workers scale up their response and get vital aid both to people inside Ukraine and refugees coming across the border."
Simon shared a video where he spoke about the scale of the devastation in Ukraine.
"I'm sure you've seen the news about Ukraine. The conflict there is having a devastating effect on civilians. Essential services such as hospital and schools have been hit.
"Lives have been lost. As a result, huge numbers of people have fled their homes."
"Leaving behind belongings, jobs and loved ones."
In between Simon talking, footage of apartment blocks on fire and buildings that have been reduced to rubble were shown.
In one clip a group of firefighters carry someone out of a bombed building on a stretcher.
He has been very vocal about the cause on his Instagram grid too, and has shared a photo of Ukraine's president Volodymyr Zelenskyy.
"This is what a world leader looks like," he wrote with blue and yellow heart emoji.
The DEC's appeal has raised an incredible £120million in just five days.
The total includes £25 million matched by the UK Government.
Madara Hettiarachchi, DEC director of programmes and accountability, said: “This incredible support will help meet people’s urgent needs today and help them rebuild their lives into tomorrow.
“Every person who has donated, fundraised and helped to spread the word can be proud to be supporting people who have had their lives torn apart by this devastating conflict.”
