Simon Levy denies violent attack on prison officer at HMP Belmarsh

  • Double murderer Simon Levy has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm and intentional strangulation following an alleged attack on a Belmarsh prison officer .
  • The 41-year-old is accused of stabbing guard Paul Dunne in the arm and neck with a pen before attempting to strangle him on 18 February.
  • Levy appeared at Westminster Magistrates’ Court via videolink and pleaded not guilty to both charges.
  • Deputy Chief Magistrate Tan Ikram sent the case to Inner London Crown Court for trial, with the next hearing scheduled for 14 September.
  • Levy was recently given a whole life prison term for the murders of Carmenza Valencia-Trujillo and Sheryl Wilkins in Tottenham.
