Simon Jordan reckons Michael Beale is getting exactly what he deserves – now he's in the "big boy seat" at Rangers.
The Englishman is experiencing the first signs of serious scrutiny after coming through his first four derbies against Celtic winless. Defeat at Hampden at the weekend saw Rangers crash out of the Scottish Cup and guaranteed they will finish the season trophyless, with Ange Postecoglou's team needing just one win from their final five games to secure the Premiership title.
There have been signs of progress under Beale but a small section of fans have voiced concerns over whether he is the man to wrestle Scottish football dominance back from Celtic given they have lost to them in both cups and taken a single point from their rivals in the league so far. And Jordan, who heavily criticised Beale over the circumstances of his return to Ibrox back in December, has now doubled down.
Beale professed his loyalty to QPR after being offered the Wolves job but just weeks later he returned to Glasgow, where he previously served as Steven Gerrard's No.2. And Jordan said on talkSPORT: "He did a very good job at QPR which got a lot of attention. Clearly he's a very capable individual, but he clearly doesn't know at times when to speak and when not to speak, like we can all be guilty of. To make the ridiculous assertions he made about not wanting to go to Wolves, then catching the first bus out to Rangers, made him look slightly hypocritical.
"Would he regret (joining Rangers)? Well no, because Rangers is a big football club and if you've got ambition and believe in yourself then you're going to take the bigger opportunity. Rangers, in Scotland, is a bigger opportunity than QPR. They're languishing in the bottom third of the second tier of English football and have been in disarray off the field for some time. They've got themselves into all manner of problems and haven't punched their weight.
"But going back to Rangers, I don't know about the fella (Beale). When you start saying silly things that contradict yourself, and you make observations about what you're going to do but don't do them and do the polar opposite...I believe everything someone says until they tell me a lie, then I'll never believe a word they say again.
"When he said no to Wolves, I was the first one to say 'fair play to him.' That surprised me, but then bang! He goes to Rangers. You can get the back story, yeah yeah, he was there with Gerrard. Whatever."
Jordan was then asked by Jim White if he can cut Beale some slack but his answer was clear as day. He said: "I can cut him no slack!"
"QPR gave him an opportunity. There was no queue of people waiting to give him an first-team manager's job. He got an opportunity given to him and there should have been more respect for QPR.
"He will reap his own potential whirlwind. He wants the big boy seat at Rangers, this is the price of the ticket. He's in the big boy seat now. Away you go. The only job you've got to do now is win at Rangers, and if you don't get it you'll get exactly what you deserve. Your loyalty, your support, your backbone, your football nous took you to Rangers. Let's hope it works out for you because you'll get exactly what you deserve."
