Simon Jordan on 'hostile Elland Road' in Leeds United's win over Chelsea

Simon Jordan believes the crowd at Elland Road helped Jesse Marsch's side continue their unbeaten start to the campaign. Leeds United have won two of their opening three games of the season and are currently sat in the Champions League places.

Thomas Tuchel's side gifted the Whites the lead when Brenden Aaronson caught Edouard Mendy napping. Former Crystal Palace chairman, Jordan, believes he was affected by the fans.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Jordan said: "There’s probably an element of that but I also think Chelsea were ratted out by Leeds in terms of Leeds were so much sharper to the ball, worked so hard, they pressed Chelsea, gave them none of the ball.

"The atmosphere I can attest to, not being a player, but sat there albeit next to Ken Bates which wasn’t the most enjoyable experience. The atmosphere at Elland Road is one of the most hostile places you can go to, it’s a big, proper football club and the fans certainly know that.

"The goalkeeper was affected by the fans, got him nervous, jumpy but he embodied certain aspects of Chelsea’s performance, they can’t scroll through games at Leeds, they have to be at it, they’ve got to compete then have the better players to have competed and match Leeds. Leeds were an irresistible force and Chelsea were not an immovable object."
