Simon Jordan fires 'momentum' warning to Leeds United after relegation rivals find success

Former Crystal Palace owner and TalkSPORT pundit Simon Jordan has warned Leeds United of Nottingham Forest's 'momentum' after their 3-1 win over Brighton on Wednesday night.

A Pascal Gross own goal coupled with chip-ins from Danilo and Morgan Gibbs-White saw the Reds come from behind to beat the Seagulls at the City Ground, a result which lifted them out of the relegation zone.

The win also meant they drew level on points with the Whites, who now sit just a point above the bottom three following their own draw with Leicester earlier this week.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, Jordan highlighted how the Forest win is likely to give them a huge boost in confidence for their last five games of the season and could come at the detriment of clubs like Leeds and others around them like Everton.

"There was no better time to play Brighton was there? With all due respect, a team that has just got knocked out of an FA Cup semi-final on penalties after extra time, three days ago, is possibly going to be a team that you would like to play,” he said.

"Fair play to Nottingham Forest.. There was obviously an expectation that Brighton were going to do what Brighton do which is to beat teams, and Nottingham Forest have been feeble and they’ve given themselves a chance.

"But they’re all at it at this moment in time, they’re all winning games you don’t expect them to win, coming out with big results that are shovelling the guys around them. That makes it so much more difficult for the run-in for Everton and Leeds because Forest have now picked up a win and that is momentum.

"You saw Steve Cooper’s reaction, this was not the reaction of a manager taking it in his stride, this was a manager that was moderately elated at that outcome."
