Simon Jordan blasts Michael Beale as Rangers boss hit with Ange dugout contrast and 'ridiculous' Sutton feud verdict

Simon Jordan believes Michael Beale is not good enough to take on Ange Postecoglou and that he needs to drop his feud with former Celtic striker Chris Sutton.

The TalkSport pundit and former Crystal Palace owner reacted after Celtic overcame their fierce rivals Rangers at Hampden Park in the Viaplay Cup final. Two goals from Kyogo Furuhashi either side of half-time were enough for Ange Postecoglou's side to life the League Cup for the second year in a row.

Gers striker Alfredo Morelos reduced the deficit 10 minutes later but a spirited Light Blues fightback fell short and indeed Celtic could have stretched their lead in the closing moments. It was a first defeat for Michael Beale since taking over as Gers boss in November and it keeps Celtic on course for a domestic treble. The champions have a nine-point lead over their city rivals at the top of the cinch Premiership and are still in the Scottish Cup and it looks like they will take all the beating this season.

Ahead of the cup final Beale and Record Sport pundit Sutton exchanged words with each having a go at one another of their records in football. Speaking on talkSport, Jordan believes that Rangers won't beat Celtic anytime soon if Postecoglou is still in charge at Parkhead.

He said: "Michael Beale, he's a mixed bag isn't he. Rangers aren't good enough. I don't think they're good enough in the dugout right now to compete with Ange Postecoglou. I don't think they are good enough on the pitch. We're talking about the situation surrounding Ange Postecoglou and where he is, and what he is as a manager.

"They are nine points clear in the SPFL, just beat them in the cup. They'll beat them every time they play them or they won't get beat by them. They won't get beat by Rangers anytime soon.

"He's (Beale) got this running feud going on with Chris Sutton, which I think is ridiculous. Both of them should keep their counsel a little bit albeit the fact that Chris is a pundit and that's what he's paid to do now."
