Simon Cowell shows off weight loss on GMB as he teases Britain's Got Talent twist

Simon Cowell looked slimmer than ever as he appeared on Thursday's edition of Good Morning Britain.

In a pre-recorded interview with Showbiz Correspondent Richard Arnold, Simon was joined by Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams to discuss the 2022 series of Britain's Got Talent.

Simon, 62, showed off his three-stone weight loss in a pair of black jeans and a matching zip up top as he teased a new twist to the latest season of the ITV reality show.

Britain's Got Talent fans will be introduced to a 'Golden Moment' element which will accompany the show's legendary Golden Buzzer.

"I'm always nervous before we make the show, what if they're all terrible?" Simon admitted to Richard during the chat.

"But you'll see, we have some really really good people. And then we have something new, which we're going to call a Golden Moment. It's new, and I think it's great."

Fellow judge Amanda added: "It's really cute" as Alesha commented: "You really see the acts fight for their place on the show."

Simon continued: "I think it was a good thing that we had a year off if I'm being honest with you, I genuinely do.

"For me, it's a better show this year. I think the acts are better, they're better prepared. I mean they've used this time to rehearse more.

"I mean you'll see there are some really, really good people," he added as Alesha chimed in: "People are really hungry to get back out onstage."

Richard then asked: "When you say it benefitted from a refresh, is that a step that you would have taken before or had the courage to do before the pandemic if it hadn't been enforced?"

"Yeah," he answered immediately, but Alesha and Amanda were shocked and commented: "Really?"

"Yes 100 per cent," Simon confirmed, before adding: "If you have to."

Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV and ITV Hub.
