Music mogul Simon Cowell once led a bachelor lifestyle filled with booze and chain smoking, yet the TV personality has now settled down, with a full health transformation in tow.
The Britain's Got Talent star, 63, started out as a record producer before rising to fame when he entered into the world of TV talent competition judging.
He first appeared as a judge on Pop Idol in the early 2000s, but it was Simon's role on his own show The X Factor 's judging panel that saw him become one of the biggest TV celebrities.
Simon hasn't had it easy over the past few years as he suffered a series of accidents, which shifted his focus onto his health.
The dad has managed to changed his diet and kick his infamous smoking habit.
A vegan diet
Following a health scare back in 2017, Simon switched to a vegan diet.
It came after he collapsed and fell down the stairs in his London home and was rushed to hospital, fearing that he'd broken his neck.
Luckily, the star made a full recovery but the fall, which was reported to have happened due to very low blood pressure, was a wake-up call for Simon.
He had previously admitted that he didn't lead a very healthy lifestyle and after seeking advice from a specialist he decided to make the switch to a plant-based diet.
Simon quickly made headlines as he showcased a jaw-dropping transformation that saw him lose over four stone.
However, following his horrific electric bicycle accident in 2020, long-term friend Sinitta told The Sun : "He's gained a bit of weight and is looking healthier. He said he had to start eating protein, calcium and break his vegan diet to rebuild his strength."
Cowell's new e-bike reared out of control and knocked him off balance, which left him needing to have a six-hour surgery, during which doctors implanted a metal rod in his back.
It was said that his back was fractured three times. He later had another bike accident in 2022, but it hasn't deterred him from using the mode of transport as he was recently spotted taking a ride around Manchester.
Cutting down the cigs
Simon's unhealthy habit once had him smoking 80 cigarettes a day.
The X Factor bosses were left fuming when he sparked up inside the studios – opting to pay a £100 fine every time he did it, rather than step outside.
In 2013, the talent show creator turned to vaping in an effort to cut down his excessive chain smoking.
He took to Twitter and said: "I have cut down smoking. A lot. Using electric cigarettes to help. Are they bad for you?"
In the same year, Simon revealed he would try to quit smoking ahead of the birth of his son, Eric, who he shares with his US socialite fiancée Lauren Silverman.
However, he failed to kick the habit up until his accident in 2017, telling Now magazine: "I've cut down smoking to two [cigarettes] a day. That's it!"
Simon's ex partner and Eric’s godmother Sinitta, says his little boy has become the ‘cigarette police’ and only allows Simon one puff on a cigarette before he has to stub it out.
She told The Sun : "He always says ‘how many puffs, how many puffs’. Eric is like a little cigarette police and keeps him on his toes.”
Sinitta said the problem with Simon is he actually enjoys smoking.
Boozy ways
Simon once admitted he drank alcohol to enter a “calm place” and come up with his TV ideas, drinking vodka at “one or two in the morning”.
The TV star appeared to be drinking a bottle of Skinny Lager after a round of Britain's Got Talent auditions in 2022.
It has been rumoured Simon has invested £500,000 in the low-calorie, vegan beer last year after becoming an "absolute devotee" to the drink.
He is said drink two bottles of the beer, which as 89 calories per bottle, a night, according to MailOnline.
Simon's habits started young as he told the Sun: “I was so bad when I was Eric's age. I was a nightmare. I was drinking and smoking at eight, and I once nearly burned the house down."
