Simon Cowell was clocked looking in shock as the results of the latest Britain's Got Talent semi were announced on Thursday night and tips to make the final, The Front Line Singers, didn't make it through.
With just days to go until this year's final, another batch of hopefuls returned to the spotlight in a bid to impress the judges and viewers' at home. And one that caused a real stir, just as he did in his audition was The Phantom.
The invisible magic act, as well as freaking plenty of people out, has been the centre of much speculation over his identity. Although we still don't know that, The Phantom once again made an impact in the fourth live heat of the week, with Amanda Holden vanishing during the performance and David Walliams getting a sinister message at the end.
While his Britain's Got Talent colleague Alesha Dixon declared that she wanted The Phantom in the final, Simon was way less enamoured with the act, branding Amanda's involvement 'pointless' and questioning why The Phantom didn't guess the memory he asked David to think of.

While, after some playful jibes from David and hosts Ant and Dec, Simon had to do some backtracking and admit he 'couldn't hear' everything that was going on on stage during The Phantom's performance, he clearly wasn't expecting the act to trouble the night's top three spots.
And he failed to cover up his surprise when Ant and Dec announced that The Phantom had indeed made the top three, looking visibly dismayed at the outcome. After the Front Line Singers were told they were going home, the winner with the public on the night was the 'voice of The Greatest Showman,' Loren Allred. Before Simon had a chance to decide between The Phantom and Five Star Boys, the other judges had sealed the result, with all three voting for the young dance group.
