Simon Cowell gives Welsh dance group a standing ovation on Britain's Got Talent

It is common knowledge that Simon Cowell is the toughest judge to impress on Britain's Got Talent, however, one Welsh dance group had him on his feet after their performance. Notorious, a dance group from Port Talbot, impressed Simon with their energetic school-themed dance.

Notorious dance group, which consists of 25 brilliant dancers aged seven to 17, attended auditions for the programme in Manchester back in January and left Simon very impressed after their performance included jumps, synchronised movements and backflips.

After the performance, both Simon and fellow judges Bruno Tonioli and Amanda Holden gave the group a standing ovation. Simon said: "I've got to say we have seen a lot of other dance groups, however, that was absolutely brilliant!" The group received four yeses from the judges, sending them through to the semi-finals. All the dancers in the group are members of TDM Stage School, a popular dance and performing arts academy based in Sandfields in Port Talbot.

The dance school has had much success on Britain's Got Talent and other TV competition shows over the last decade, with several dance groups from the school getting as far as the semi-finals and finals of Britain's Got Talent in previous series.

Speaking to WalesOnline ahead of the group's performance airing on May 27, principal and founder of TDM Stage School, Terry Michael explained: "Notorious are a high energy, up-tempo dance act with a fantastic routine accompanied by a great soundtrack - guaranteed to get your toes tapping! They performed a school-themed dance act to the Britain's Got Talent judges at the auditions in Manchester in January." You can read more about the dance troupe here.
