Simon Cowell has branded himself 'a bit of a nutter' after his second e-bike crash in 18 months.
The reality TV and music mogul, 62, also vowed to wear a helmet in future as he spoke out publicly for the first time since breaking his arm in the fall.
Simon was rushed to hospital and sustained a fractured arm after skidding at 20mph and flying over his handlebars into the middle of the road, last week.
Speaking for the first time after his terrifying accident, Simon told the MailOnline today: "I'm OK. I'm feeling much better thank you. It happened just round the corner.
“'I'm a bit of a nutter. I'll definitely wear a helmet next time.”
The dad had to be helped by three onlookers who stopped the traffic while an ambulance was called to the scene.
Simon was then rushed straight to the Chelsea and Westminster Hospital and given an x-ray which revealed his fractured arm.
Despite his second fall in less than two years, Simon is reportedly refusing to give his beloved bike - much to the anguish of his fiancee Lauren Silverman.
"Simon is as stubborn as a mule.," a source told The Sun. "He won't give up his precious E bikes for love nor money."
His new fiancee Lauren was away in New York when the latest incident happened and was said to be 'beside herself with worry.'
Sources say Simon has agreed a compromise that he will own ride the bikes while wearing a helmet.
"He's lucky to be alive and shouldn't push his luck," added an insider.
Simon was pictured leaving his home in West London today with his left arm wrapped in a yellow cast.
Despite the injury, Simon appeared to be in good spirits as he gave a thumbs up to photographers wearing his trademark aviator sunglasses and a black puffer jacket.
The Britain's Got Talent head judge last made headlines for a fall in August 2020 where he broke his back and underwent six hours of surgery - which involved having a metal rod inserted.
He was forced to pull out of work commitments in the States and in England, leaving Ashley Banjo to replace him at the BGT finals.
Simon has been back in London filming the latest series of Britain’s Got Talent alongside Amanda Holden, Alesha Dixon and David Walliams, with the show slated to return to screens in the spring.
The series was cancelled last year due to the pandemic.
Earlier this month, the mogul revealed his engagement to long-term partner Silverman, with whom he shares son Eric.
The ITV series was cancelled in 2021 due to the pandemic.
