MUMBAI: The BMC has extended the deadline for placing Marathi signboards at all shops and establishments in Mumbai to June 30. The civic body had earlier given a diktat for ensuring the signboards by May 31. Officials said the deadline was extended by a month following requests from traders and business owners.
Viren Shah, president, Federation of Retail Traders' Welfare Association said, "The new rule requires the Marathi font to be the dominant one. This will require a complete redesign of signboards."
