'Sign of the apocalypse' as flock of sheep 'march in a circle for 10 days'

Hundreds of sheep have reportedly been marching in a perfect circle for ten whole days - with some saying it is a 'sign of the apocalypse'. The flock have allegedly been following each other round in a clockwise direction for over week without any guidance, with not a single sheep stepping out of place.

The bizarre video was captured in the city of Baotou in Mongolia on November 4, with some even claiming that their strange behaviour could be a sign of the end of the world. After the clip was uploaded to Twitter, many were left baffled and immediately took to the comments section to try to make sense of the odd occurrence, the Mirror reports.

Twitter user Billy, who shared the video, wrote: "A flock of Sheep in Inner Mongolia have been walking in a circle for over 10 days straight and no one knows why."

He then shared a follow-up tweet, which asked: "Sign Of The Apocalypse?".

It has been reported the owner of the herd, a Ms Miao, has no idea what has caused the sheep to start marching in a circle. She shared CCTV footage of the flock, which later went viral on Twitter and attracted thousands of comments.

One viewer wrote: "Repent oh ye sinners for the hour of judgement is at hand." Another said: "Be prepared for the return of Christ as your days are numbered. Do not ignore the signs - science is not real."

However, some tried to rationalise the phenomenon, with one person commenting: "I wonder if it is because the wind is still. Humans have been less active, consistent movements create natural energy which is the creation of weather patterns. 'Rain dance', the native tribes called it.

"They can communicate it to other humans. Animals do it through intuition."

A fourth user explained: "Actually, this is normal. Basically, when one sheep gets infected, the whole flock get worried and start to panic. This causes the flock of sheep to follow the one who has been infected."

Another user joked: "I'd be more concerned if they were walking in a triangle."
