Leeds United striker Patrick Bamford just cannot catch a break. After returning from a season hampered by injury last term, Bamford was withdrawn with a suspected groin injury just 28 minutes into Leeds' visit to Southampton.
Jesse Marsch named the same starting line-up that won 2-1 against Wolverhampton Wanderers in their Premier League opener, but with no Joe Gelhardt on the bench, Daniel James replaced Bamford after returning from suspension.
Bamford featured just 10 times for the Whites across all competitions after three separate injury spells kept him out of the squad.
With another potential stint on the sidelines, calls for a new centre-forward have intensified as Leeds supporters reacted to Bamford's injury on Twitter.

@RyanKWrites Man, Patrick Bamford can't catch a break.
@Lincslufc Here we go again. I guess Joe Gelhardt is injured? Now Patrick Bamford injured. So we're back to no strikers. Rodrigo can be handy but not an out and out striker. Same with Dan James. We desperately need a proven striker who can hit the target.
@JackWelsh97 Sign a striker ASAP.
@Mollicola Death, taxes and a Patrick Bamford injury.
@SamSportsTalk95 Got to feel for Patrick Bamford. The guy just cannot stay injury free.
@AidenLUFC28 Patrick Bamford injured AGAIN? Is that right? And we ain't signed a striker. Dan James warming up, commentators think Paddy injured, you got to be kidding.
@KeithSmithNBA I like Patrick Bamford enough, but he's always hurt. Feels like he can't go two matches without picking up some sort of injury.
@WilkoSam Love Bamford but he's been injury prone in 2 of the 4 seasons he's been with Leeds. And Gelhardt is young and also misses the occasional game. Leeds can't afford another season of this. They need reinforcement up front before the window closes.
