The NHL’s best team, the Winnipeg Jets, showed it on Friday night in Pittsburgh with a 4-1 win over the Penguins. The Jets earned their 17th win of the season (17-3) while Pittsburgh fell to 7-11-4 in last place in the Metropolitan Division.
Whereas the Jets put on a clinic on offense, defense, and goaltending, the Penguins fans were on Sidney Crosby watch. Crosby is sitting at 599 career goals. Fans are eager to see Crosby make history with his 600th goal and hope it happens at home.

Crosby was shut out of scoring, but he did find himself in a scuffle with Kyle Connor after a hit that did not sit well with Crosby.

Sidney Crosby is not known for fighting. This is only his ninth fight in 1,473 games (regular season and playoffs) played over a 20-year career. It is Connor’s first career fight.
Crosby could be stressed as he pursues 600 or because the Penguins are struggling.
Fans admit that it is hard to watch Crosby on a struggling team. That’s why there is much anticipation and excitement over the 600th goal. Some hope it can give the Penguins a much needed lift.
Others believe Mike Sullivan’s tenure as the Penguins coach is reaching its expiration date. With the Bruins firing of Jim Montgomery, some suggested the Penguins should do the same and consider hiring Montgomery.
It has been 2,720 days since Mike Sullivan’s team has raised a Stanley Cup.
