Sid Owen has shared the first picture of his miracle baby daughter after she arrived four weeks early.
The former EastEnders star, 50, welcomed baby Skye last month, but revealed his fiancée Victoria Shores almost died during labour, due to suffering serious complications.
Sid posted the adorable picture of his first child on Instagram, showing the newborn smiling in her sleep.
“Skye. My love,” he wrote, alongside a love heart emoji.
HIs fans were overjoyed with the sweet snap, and took to the comments to offer their congratulations to the ex-soap star.
“She’s beautiful congratulations,” one wrote.
“A beautiful name… so thrilled for you.. what a beautiful next chapter for your life.. Love her name…” another added.
“What a little beauty - many congratulations,” a fan commented, as one agreed: “Such a content little face, congratulations.”
It’s the first child for Sid, and he bravely shared details of Victoria’s terrifying labour, which almost ended with both her and their unborn child dying after she developed the life-threatening condition placenta previa.
The 42-year-old, who is already mum to two children from a previous relationship, lost two pints of blood and needed a transfusion after Skye was delivered safely by an emergency C-section.
Sid, who played Ricky Butcher in the BBC One soap for 24 years, told the Sun on Sunday that he pleaded with doctors to save Victoria’s life.
“I couldn’t cope with losing Vic, I was more concerned about her. I’m still trying to process the trauma of it. It was the toughest moment I have ever experienced,” he shared.
The couple are settling into family life at home, and revealed they missed out on a baby shower as Skye arrived a month earlier than expected.
Last year, Victoria sadly suffered a miscarriage, and they’re relieved to have completed their family with the addition of their gorgeous daughter.
“Now I have to tell Sid to put Skye in the crib as he won’t put her down! He’s obsessed,” she laughed.
Sid announced the birth of their first baby in a touching picture on Instagram, showing him in scrubs in a hospital room while kissing Victoria.
“Been a long a day. But. Can I say. I love you Victoria. Thank you for our baby,” he wrote.
