Sickness hits Strictly Come Dancing with professionals and celebrities falling 'very very ill'

BBC Strictly Come Dancing has been thrown into turmoil in the last week with several celebrities and professionals 'very, very ill' according to competitor Fleur East. The singer and radio hoat who is taking part in this years sho told her listeners that the Saturday night favorite was in chaos last week due to illness.

"There were a few mentions on Saturday night, but it was a tough week for a lot of people in the competition," reports Birmingham Live. While it had been documented that there had been some illness in camp ahead of Saturday's show, Fleur laid bare the reality.

She said: "Hamza [Yassin] was very, very sick, so was Will [Mellor] and so was Kym [Marsh] and we didn’t say anything on Saturday but Vito [Coppola] was really ill last week too. I got one full day of rehearsal with him."

She added: "Everyone was getting the flu! So, he was out for the count and in bed - he didn’t move for two days. I started freaking out on Thursday because I was like oh my gosh, I’ve had to practice with someone else. And as soon as Vito did make it to rehearsals, he was a different height, had a different stance – it was like a brand-new routine I had to learn."

"In the end we got about six hours together before production rehearsal on Friday. But I think when you have that added pressure you just pull it out from somewhere. We were both like right we were in the dance off last week, we need to just get this done,"

"He was sweating and everything but somehow, we pulled it together!"

Bros singer Matt Goss and his partner Nadiya Bychkova left the show on the weekend after the judges chose to save Kym Marsh and Graziano Di Prima in the dreaded dance-off, which aired on BBC One on Sunday, October 16.

Taking to the dance floor again following the public vote, Matt and Nadiya, who have been in the dance-off once before, performed the Jive to Paul McCartney's version of 'All Shook Up, while Kym and Graziano performed their Samba to Volare by Gipsy Kings.

Following their respective performances, Craig Revel Horwood, before revealing he’d be saving Kym and Graziano, said: “Well, I think both couples went up a major knot. Matt, you went absolutely fantastically mad in that. I loved it. Kym, you were really really great in it as well. But the couple I would like to save is Kym and Graziano.”

When it came to Motsi Mabuse's turn to reveal who she'd save and who she'd eliminate, she said: “From that dance off only, I think, well, I have decided to save Kym and Graziano.”

Meaning he had the potential deciding vote, Anton Du Beke said: “Well, I’d just like to say you should both be thrilled with the way you performed in the dance-off. The most high-pressured of situations. Matt, I thought that was the best performance you put in in the whole series. You should be really proud of yourself. But the couple with the higher technical ability, for me, going through is Kym and Graziano.”
