NEW DELHI: Talented opening batter Shubman Gill rewrote record books on Wednesday as he became the fastest Indian to score 1000 ODI runs during the first ODI of the three-match series against New Zealand at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
Gill, who slammed his second successive hundred inside four days, took only 19 innings to attain the milestone, surpassing Virat Kohli and Shikhar Dhawan's record of 24 innings.
