A William Hill customer was celebrating yesterday after their 12,284/1 four-fold came up trumps to land winnings in excess of £75,000.
The punter laid a £1 lucky 15 as well as a £5 four-fold on horses at three different UK venues, with the odds originally amounting to 8,198/1.
However, thanks to William Hill's Bet Boost feature, the odds for the four-fold were increased to a whopping 12,284/1.
Tarhib got the ball rolling as Jim Crowley's mount grew into the 2.10 at Nottingham before gaining smartly one furlong out and going on to win in an assured manner at odds of 13/2.
Next up in terms of the lucky punter's four-fold was 6/1 Bobalot in the 4.55 at Chepstow and jockey Ben Jones did enough to steer the five-year-old to victory.
Then came the first of two pivotal Kempton races which made up the other half of the bet.
First up was Tenjin in the 5.20; the William Hill punter had secured generous odds of 12/1 on the horse beforehand and so it made for the biggest lingshot of the whole bet.
However, the mount of Neil Callan fought off a blockade at the rear of the group and had made smooth headway just over two furlongs out. The horse led inside the final furlong and kept on strongly to win.
That left just one further race to decide the fate of the flutter; the 7.30 at Kempton. Similar to the previous leg, the punter plumped for a horse with interesting odds as he opted for Nader at 11/1.
In a race where the 7/4 favourite Base Note finished last, it appeared as though anything could happen. And that proved to be the case as 11/1 shot Nader quickened up over two furlongs out and kept on inside the final furlong to comprehensively see off Maytree Respite in second place.
William Hill spokesperson Lee Phelps said: “Whether it was luck or judgement, you have to take your hat off to one of our customers who won over £75k on four horses on Wednesday from just £20.
“It would have been a nervous time waiting for the final leg, but they shouldn’t have worried as Nader won easily at Kempton, capping off the 12,284/1 bet.”
