The Chicago Bulls are reportedly turning to the buyout market to improve their roster, and Bleacher Nation’s Elias Schuster has just the target in mind for the Bulls. “If it’s shooting the Chicago Bulls want, they could cross their fingers and ink Joe Harris,” writes the B/N analyst.
Noting that Harris was among the best shooters in the NBA from 2018-20 before an ankle surgery changed the course of his career in recent seasons, Schuster notes that he “has never proven to be the same reliable role player ever since undergoing multiple surgeries during the 2021-22 season.”
“The Nets eventually looked to dump his salary on the Detroit Pistons,” adds the B/N analyst. “He went on to appear in just 16 games with the team this season, shooting just 10-30 from downtown in 10.6 minutes per game.”

The upside is certainly intriguing, and if he signs at or near a vet minimum for the rest of the season, the risk is also minimal.
There might be better, younger options to consider in a similar vein, but if this is the player the Bulls’ front office ended up landing, we certainly would not be nonplussed about the decision.
