Shotts Bon Accord boss trusts his players will look after themselves during the Christmas break as his side prepare for a huge clash with St Cadoc's at the end of the year.
The Hannah Park outfit were sidelined at the weekend as the freezing temperatures and snow forced their match with Dundonald Bluebell to be called off.
After managing to squeeze some training in, players then headed into Glasgow for their Christmas night out and they won't be back in competitive action until Friday, December 30 when they travel to league leaders St Cadoc's.
The festive season can be a period of overindulgence for some, but McKeown is confident his side will be in good shape by the time the game comes along.
He said: "We've got a game on the 30th with St Cadoc's coming up on the 30th. They are league leaders and flying at the moment so we need to make sure we are sharp for that.
"I'm sure the boys will also do a good bit themselves.
"Since I played Juniors at the end of my career, nobody really did that over Christmas but players nowadays are all very professional at any level.
"They go to the gym and do their runs, really take care of themselves, so hopefully it will be a bit easier to get back into the swing of things after Christmas.
"We managed to get some training in Hamilton on Saturday morning and then had our Christmas night out so it was a good wee day.
"We will train Thursday now and then the 28th to get us prepared for the St Cadoc's game."
The Bonny are set to play local rivals Wishaw in a friendly tonight and McKeown added: "We've got a friendly with Wishaw to keep us ticking over. It will be good to get a game.
"I know Dunny [Wishaw boss David Dunn] quite well and with the players being off for a few weeks with the weather recently, we are keen to keep them going over the Christmas period."
