Shots fired after North Korean troops cross border into South in the Demilitarised Zone

South Korea's military fired warning shots after around 20 North Korean soldiers briefly crossed the border at the weekend, Seoul officials said on Tuesday.

The breach occurred at around 12.30pm local time (4.30am BST) on Sunday when some of leader Kim Jong-un’s troops in the Demilitarised Zone (DMZ) separating the two Koreas crossed the military demarcation line, Seoul's Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) said.
