Shorthanded Boston Celtics sneak by the Toronto Raptors

The Boston Celtics faced the Toronto Raptors at TD Garden on Friday night in a back-to-back contest, missing key players for the game like All-NBA forward Jayson Tatum, star big man Kristaps Porzingis, and veteran forward Al Horford.

Despite being shorthanded vs. the Raptors, the Celtics secured a last-second 120-118 win thanks to depth players stepping up when their number was called. Reserve big man Luke Kornet, stepping into the starting lineup, had a standout performance with 28 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 blocks. Star forward Jaylen Brown contributed significantly with 31 points, 10 rebounds, and 6 assists, leading the team in a game with so many other key players absent.

The Celtics faced a rough start to the fourth quarter and several defensive lapses, but ultimately managed to secure the win at the end of regulation.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear the thoughts of the hosts of the CLNS Media “How Bout Them Celtics!” podcast on the win.
