Shoppers snapping up dupe of stunning sell-out Aldi lantern that cost £8

Perfect for cold winter nights, the seasonal scent of a slow-burning candle and the warm glow of a lantern will transform your home into the cosy retreat you are looking for. But as house-proud Brits look for ways to find Hygge without a high price tag, budget brand Aldi is once again wowing with designer dupes and adorable Christmas homewares that are selling out in record time.

Aldi's £8 Christmas lanterns, for example, have proven to be so popular on social media they sold out super quickly online. The pretty silver reindeer, silver snowflake or festive red designs have been the talk of the town since their release, with shoppers snapping up as many as they can.

Shoppers have been filling the lanterns with tea lights, fairy lights and battery operated candles to create a cosy, Christmassy vibe.

One shopper said: "Tried to get them last year but failed, delighted to say i got the silver and red on line, absolutely beautiful with fairy lights in them. On the lookout for a blue one next." While another added: "Was surprised that it was as heavy as it is. Good quality. Is absolutely beautiful when candle is lit."

If you haven't managed to get your hands on one of the £8 lanterns from Aldi yet, High Street hardware retailer, Robert Dyas is selling a similar lantern for £12.99.

Their very own Wonderland Lantern comes in a choice of ruby-red, silver or sapphire colours and can be filled with LED candles or wax candles to create a beautiful cosy glow. Made using glass and metal, the festive lanterns are etched with a pretty Christmas tree and reindeer design, as well as a hemp rope handle that makes them easy to carry from room to room.

Previously on sale for £14.99, customers can snap one up for just £12.99 in their extended Black Friday promotion, and bag free delivery with their click-and-collect service.

But don’t panic if you haven't managed to get your hands on one just yet, as Aldi is still offering lots of pretty homeware pieces to turn your home into a winter wonderland, including wood burner lanterns from as little as £6.99 and an incredible selection of candles that have gathered an almost cult-like following online.

Savvy shoppers can save literally hundreds of pounds on their own-brand supersize, four-wick candles that are an impressive £325 cheaper than a similar size candle at designer retailer Jo Malone. Available in almond and macaroon, velvety rose, pomegranate and lime and basil scents, these gigantic centre-piece candles offer up to 100 hours of burn time for just £24.99.

The supermarket is also selling a cinnamon spice candle in a jar that is a must-have for Yankee Candle fans. The bargain dupe claims to offer an impressive 170-hour burn time for £3.99, nearly £24 cheaper than buying directly from the more expensive brand.

With delighted shoppers proclaiming that Aldi's large glass jar candle smells just as good if not better, stocks are already getting low online.

Thrifty shoppers are also still loving the range of White Company -inspired fragrances that replicate the minimalist look of the upmarket scents that can retail for as much as £140.

Available in a host of fragrances including dark wood and cardamom, velvety rose or fresh fig and cassis, the striking glass jar Aldi candles sell for just £3.99 and are an essential buy for candle lovers everywhere.
