Amazon Prime Day started at midnight and shoppers are snapping up tens of thousands of different products with discounts of up to 70% on their usual price. But while a £35 Kindle, £25 tablet, half price Elemis beauty products or even a £199 Apple Watch are all amazing deals, many shoppers today are more interested in stocking their kitchen cupboards than their make up bags or wardrobes.

With the cost of groceries in supermarkets increasing so quickly, this year there has been an increased interest in bulk and discounted deals on cupboard essentials. From coffee and tea to breakfast cereal and brand name Heinz products, Amazon is selling a host of store cupboard foods with big discounts, so whether you're stockpiling crisps or cereal bars for lunchboxes or porridge oats for healthy breakfasts through the summer there's plenty to choose from.
Among the cupboard staples available as Prime Day deals right now are:
- Bacon flavour fries, reduced to £8.64 for a case of 24 bags or 36p a bag.
- Walkers French Fries ready salted crisps, reduced to £15.19 for 32 bags or 47p a bag.
- Heinz Baked Beans, 12 cans for £9.99 or 83p each.
- Heinz Cream of Tomato Soup, 12 cans for £9.59 or 80p each.
- Robinsons Mini Summer Fruit, six packs for £7.20.
- Quaker Oat So Simple, 120 sachets for £17.45 or 40% off.
- KIND cereal bars, 24 bars for £14.25 or 50% off.
- Nakd gluten free cereal bars, £7.79 for 18 bars.
- Rude Health Organic Coconut Gluten and Dairy free Drink, 6 litre bottles for £11.20.
- Crispy Fantasy high protein low sugar chocolate breakfast cereal, £15.99 for four boxes.
But these Amazon Prime Day deals aren't the only way that savvy shoppers can save on groceries with the internet retail giant. Many shoppers may not realise that Amazon also delivers groceries, allowing consumers to buy their weekly shop on the site to take advantage of the Prime savings. Amazon sells thousands of grocery items including fresh produce, household essentials, plus popular and specialist brands through Amazon Fresh or via Morrisons.
Many Prime members are turning to Amazon for their food shop due to the same-day click and collect offer with selected Morrisons stores. It means that those who place their order by lunchtime can be cooking in time for dinner - plus shoppers are able to update their order right up until Amazon start picking their items.
Same-day grocery delivery is included within a Prime membership for orders over £40 in a two-hour delivery slot. Delivery is £3.99 for orders under £40, with a minimum spend £15.
What's more, those who sign up to Amazon Prime can get either £10 or £15 off their first three grocery shops.
The deal, which runs until July 31, 2022, is personalised to each Prime member, depending on location and availability, so some shoppers may get £10 off their first three shops online while others may get £15 off their first three shops in Amazon Fresh stores.
Available now, new customers who shop Amazon Fresh online can get £15 off any order over £50 or more and this deal is valid on their first three shops with same-day delivery. Find out more about the deal here.
