A whopping 80 per cent of skin damage is caused by the sun’s UV rays, which can lead to wrinkles and ageing. That’s why it’s important to wear sun protection all year round - not just when the sun pops out for a few weeks of the year.
And shoppers at Boots and Amazon have been heaping praise on an anti-UV SPF product, which has racked up more than 200 five star reviews - compared to only one 1 star rating.
The new L’Oreal Revitalift Clinical Vitamin C SPF 50+ is a daily anti-UV fluid that helps protect the skin from sun damage - and it’s currently better than half price at Boots and Amazon.

Suitable for all skin tones and types - even sensitive skin - the daily protectant is waterproof and sweatproof - making it perfect for holiday and day to day wear. Lightweight, non-oily and non-sticky, many shoppers have praised it for not stinging eyes, as well as working well under makeup.
Although it only launched a few months back, this Vitamin C SPF has been hailed “excellent”, “fantastic” and “great” by users in the Boots reviews section, where there are 214 five star reviews.
One person said: “Lovely cream. Would recommend this product. Looks so vibrant once on. Great value”.
And another added: “This was half price a couple of weeks ago, so I purchased it, and what attracted me the most to it was the SPF 50 because that’s the only SPF I use now nothing else. I’ve used the most expensive brands that money can buy, and they have been nothing on this.”
“It’s not greasy, it's not heavy it doesn’t pill on top of other creams… I love that it’s a fluid and not a heavy cream.”
A four star rating added: “A light lotion that sinks in immediately and doesn't irritate my eyes, at all! Would definitely have to apply it over my usual moisturiser though (not instead of) as it is in no way moisturising enough alone, unless you had oily skin, I guess.”
Usually £19.99, the SPF fluid is just £9.99 on the Boots website until May 9, meanwhile, it’s cheaper still on Amazon, priced at £8.97.
Another customer, on Amazon, added: “Omg! The best moisturiser/fluid I’ve ever tried! Absolutely perfect under my foundation, my skin now feels so plush!”
Meanwhile, on the L'Oreal Instagram account, one woman said: "As a woman of colour I have come to testify that this leave NO white marks what so ever! I have tried hundreds of sunscreens all price classes but this is my fave."
Other SPFs that are factor 50+ and under £10 could be a great alternative when the L’Oreal one goes back up to full price include the Bondi Sands Sunscreen Lotion SPF 50+ for Face (£6.99), Ambre Solaire Mini Ultra-Hydrating Shea Butter Sun Protection Cream SPF50+ (£7.99) and Soltan Once Age Defence Advanced 8hr Protect Facial Suncare Cream with Hyaluronic Acid SPF50+ (£5).
The latest one from L’Oreal Paris offers advanced, daily SPF50+ protection against UV-induced early ageing in an ultra-light, invisible and moisturising texture. It leaves an ultra-thin, homogeneous film on the skin’s surface that locks in the UV filters, with no tell-tale marks after application - and no one wants that white cast like so many others on the high street leave behind.
