Shoppers claim they have found an ‘amazing’ pair of budget straighteners that are ‘better’ than some of the high price brands.
When it comes to electrical beauty products, many would say ‘you get what you pay for’ - which is why products like the Dyson Corrale, Cloud Nine and GHD straighteners are so popular.
The Dyson straightening tool comes in at a hefty £399.99, so comparatively, GHD and Cloud Nine’s are much cheaper, starting at £129 and £99 respectively.
But beauty fans are saying that a pair of £33 Revlon straighteners tops the big-name brands, saying they halve the time it takes to style frizzy locks.

One customer shared her results on the Extreme Couponing and Bargains Group on Facebook, with one side of her hair sleek and smooth, the other showing her naturally ‘thick, frizzy’ hair, and wrote: “I’ve had GHDs, Cloudnines and nothing is a patch on these. Literally have the thickest, frizziest hair and have to keep going over and over. This was just a quick once over to see if they were any good!!!”
Another user commented: “Just used these for the first time and OMG. I've had the L’Oreal steam pods, Cloud nines and GHDS and I returned all of those because they just didn't work on my incredibly thick frizzy hair. These are superb and defo a winner in my eyes.”
The straighteners that shoppers have been heaping praise onto are the Revlon Double Straight. Usually £59.99, they’ve sold out at £39.99 on the Boots website - but are cheaper still on Amazon, where they’re just £33.22.
Unlike traditional straighteners, these offer a dual plate design, the first of which straightens, while the second reinforces, meaning fewer passes through the hair, saving time and reducing the risk of heat damage.
Suitable for mid to long hair, the straighteners have 10 variable LED heat settings and reach up to 235°C.
On the Boots website, the beauty tool has racked up 76 five star and 19 four star reviews, compared to only one three star, one two star, and zero one star reviews, proving that customers have been more than satisfied with the device.
One shopper said: “Best straightener I've ever had. Brilliant price and halves your straightening time perfectly every time. Best thing I've bought in a long time!”
Another added: “I was slightly dubious about these straighteners as I have short hair (a jaw length bob). They were such a good price though I decided to bite the bullet and I'm so glad I did.
“They are the best straighteners I've ever used - better than GHDs (which I've now sold) and better than my Dyson straighteners. They are not as big as I'd thought they'd be and work wonderfully - they glide through my frizzy hair so smoothly and leave it poker straight at just 170 degrees.
“They also remember the temperature last used so they don't have to be reset the next time you use them.”
The budget straighteners certainly seem to be giving the high-end brands a run for their money, you can find them here on Amazon for £33.22 - nearly half off the RRP.
