It’s that time of the year when you’re fed up with mopping away muddy boot and paw prints off your kitchen floor every five minutes, with your regular mop simply not cutting it and taking forever to dispel the dirt. Well, Aldi shoppers have been heaping praise on a steam mop that heats up in less than 30 seconds - with some saying they’ve since ditched their Shark mops.
The Beldray Steam Mop was originally £39.99 , but has been slashed by 25 per cent, now costing shoppers £29.99. The ‘amazing’ mop provides beautifully clean floors ready for festive visitors, and is ‘perfect for pet owners’, Aldi says.
The steam mop heats up and is ready to be used within 25 seconds, with up to 15 minutes of continuous steam.

Complete with a dual-tank system to keep detergent and water separate, it’s also designed to fit multi cleaning tools to ensure your home is kept well sanitised.
The cut-price mop has received a raft of five star reviews, with 77 per cent of customers saying they would recommend this product to a friend.
One shopper said: “Bought this after an expensive electric mop broke. The bottom being rectangular is great as can get up to skirting and kickboards in kitchen.”
Another added: “I spent over £150 on a steam cleaner that doesn’t do the job half as well as the Beldray can. The Beldray is easily moved around the house for cleaning , it is so light.
“The fact that detergent can be used adds freshness to cleaning floors. I wanted something to clean the floors when the cats walk through the kitchen with muddy paws, this steamer is perfect for such a chore. Heats up quickly, cleans really well, smells good and slim enough to leave in a corner for easy access.”
A third said it was better than their Shark cleaner, commenting: “Had this for about two weeks now and very pleased with it. Had a Shark steam cleaner but wasn't happy with it so read the reviews on this and decided to give it a go.
“Wish I'd purchased it sooner, very good steam amount and easy to fill and use. Gets my floors cleaned quickly and I like that you can add a floor cleaning solution as well.”
A fourth wrote: “It steams my lino without soaking the floor, it's not heavy, I'm very impressed with it.”
Shark’s steam mop has recently been reduced ahead of Christmas, going from £69.99 to £49.99, saving shoppers £20, with a promise to ‘confidently clean and sanitise all types of hard floors using water alone’. However, Aldi’s dupe is still another £20 cheaper.
The budget cleaner isn’t the only steam mop Aldi has to offer, though, with one priced up at £179.99. The AirCraft PowerGlide CITY is a superior model complete with rotating pads, LED headlights and a fold down handle, as well as four microfibre pads made to collect dust in the hard to get to places.
One shopper, called Ange, even said: “This is my saviour, particularly at this time of year and as an owner of two labradors, I speak from experience of mopping floors! So easy to use too.
“I pondered and wondered about spending so much money on a ‘mop’ and now wish I’d bought it ages ago. Just brilliant!”
