Shoppers praise £12.75 ‘magic in a tub’ skincare saviour perfect for PCOS and acne

Boots shoppers are hailing praise on a targeted skincare treatment for being ‘a must’ for acne sufferers. And it’s currently on sale for £12.75.

The La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ Blemish treatment usually retails at £17, and promises ‘clearer skin in four weeks’.

The acne-prone blemish treatment has racked up 484 five star reviews claiming it to be a ‘miracle in a tub’.

Boots said: “Specifically formulated for oily and acne-prone skin in both adults and teenagers. A dual action gel moisturiser for every day that minimises the appearance of spots and blackheads, controls shine and helps protect the skin from the causes of red and brown coloured marks that are often left behind by spots.”

The product uses the active ingredient niacinamide to reduce the appearance of spots, while salicylic acid works to unclog blocked pores. The addition of Zinc PCA helps to control sebum - which often gathers around the nose - to help control shine, as glycerin aids in hydration throughout the day.

Ideal for sensitive skin, the formula contains no parabens, no preservatives, no soap, no colourants and no lanolin. It is hypoallergenic and non-comedogenic which means it won't block pores.

One shopper said it’s a ‘great product for anyone struggling with acne’ after it helped her ‘sort out’ her skin.

Another acne-sufferer added: “After using many other products to try and clear up my acne mainly around my jaw and chin area, I found this and saw the great reviews so gave it a try and so glad I did, nothing has helped like this. Cleared up most of my spots and any dark spots left behind. Skin overall looks a lot better!”

One shopper described it as a ‘game changer’ adding: “ It left my skin smooth and my imperfections were getting less with continuous use.I would highly recommend this fab cream, it's a must..”

One customer was diagnosed with polycystic ovary syndrome, which affected her skin, meaning she often gets hormonal breakouts.

She explained: “I have had acne since my late teen years and only in the last seven months discovered I have PCOS also so I tend to get breakouts of hormonal acne along my jaw, chin and neck, which at times makes me feel self-conscious.”

But they say that using the La Roche-Posay treatment has helped clear up her skin and avoid scarring, adding: “I used to use this product as a teen and have, after many other tried and failed brands, gone back to using this product. It is, in my eyes, like magic in a tub that helps to dry out and clear up the acne I have whilst diminishing the likelihood of scarring.

“For 40ml you get, it is value for money as a little goes a long way. I am grateful to La Roche-Posay for bringing out a range like this as it helps remedy a symptom of my condition and give me that confidence I need.”

The product is said to be a match made in heaven with the La Roche-Posay Effaclar Purifying Cleansing Gel and the matching Effaclar Clarifying Lotion - both of which are also on offer for a limited time.

You can shop the La Roche-Posay range with 25 per cent off at Boots while promotions last.
