Shoppers flock to buy £2.50 'game changing' item that solves Gü, Lidl and Aldi pot hoarding problem

Gü puddings are the perfect after dinner treat. Delicious and just enough in the pot to cure your sweet tooth. However, when you scrape the jar clean, you’re left with a glass ramekin which seems such a shame to throw away.

Many fans of the dessert admittedly hoard the ramekins as they can be reused and recycled in many ways.

There are endless ways to reuse the ramekins such as poaching eggs, storing spices, using it as a plant pot for herbs or storing random bits and bobs you wouldn’t know where to put otherwise.

I mean, if you go to your kitchen now, there’s bound to be some Gü glass ramekins floating about the place.

However, there is a creative and innovative product that has made it even harder to throw the dessert pots away as two people have come up with a “genius” hack some shoppers have called a “game-changer.”

Pudding Pot Lids have come up with the perfect solution by creating bamboo suction seal lids so you can upcycle not only your Gü pots, but also Lidl and Aldi dessert pots.

The lids allow you to turn your unwanted pots into useful storage containers, which they recommend you use to store leftovers, fresh herbs, or anything else you need to keep fresh in the fridge.

The eco-friendly and sustainable lids are also stackable, which they say saves you valuable space in your kitchen and makes it easier to transport your food.

Jana and Jess started up the company in Hackney, London, and they say they “strive to be as green as possible.”

Shoppers and self-proclaimed hoarders of glass ramekins are obsessed with the idea.

Another Instagram user called slim_o_gram said: “What a bloody brilliant idea!! I have so many GU pots in my cupboard!!”

Carmelcraftcreations said: “Just stumbled across your page - these lids are a GENIUS idea!!”

Instagram user crckdpppr called the lids a “game changer” and thejoyofcleo added that the lids are “such a great idea I have enough Gu pots to supply a small chain of restaurants.”

One person who bought the lids, stoppingovershopping, said: “I love mine and have ordered more, another excuse to eat more pudding! I use them for storing hair bands and clips, batteries and pins.”

They are retailing at £4.99 for two lids.
