Irish people have been left divided over the price of a packet of biscuits in SuperValu.
The supermarket is currently selling a 10 pack of Jacob's Club Milk biscuits for €6.25.
One baffled shopper took to the internet to share a picture of the biscuits and their price tag, saying: “I want to meet the person paying over €6 for a small packet of biscuits.”

The post on Reddit Ireland sparked a huge reaction with many people divided over whether or not the item is fairly priced.
Some agreed with the poster, with one person writing: “Now that is shockin dear but then again, think about the price per KG. If I go into Centra and pay 1.50 for a 40 gram bar that works out at 37.50 per KG and those bars are 26 per KG. Either way I'm going to Lidl where I belong.”
Another argued: “Tescos in NI sell Club bars (under the McVities brand) they're £1.50 for 7 bars - that's £0.97/100g or £9.70 per kg. I don't know what shop this is, but they can't possibly justify this price.”
Other people said the price was fair, with one person commenting: “62c per club milk isn't too bad. How much would an individual club milk / purple snack be at the till? F**k all change from a €2 I'd say.”
Another said: “hi, you wanted to meet me... TBH I wouldn't normally knowingly pay that much but sometimes when shopping I see something I want and just grab it without thinking or checking the price. So I'm the type of sucker they're targeting with this.
“Looking at the price I do think 6.25 is expensive so I prob would be put off a little but I'm not overly prize sensitive and if I really liked club milk I'd buy them there anyway as I'd be paying for convenience.”
A third wrote: “To be fair, they were always expensive..”
The post also sparked a heated debate about whether they should be classed as ‘biscuits’ or ‘bars’, with many agreeing the snacks should be referred to as the latter.
SuperValu is currently selling Jacob's Club Milk 10 Pack (240 g) for €6.25.
It has an offer on Jacob's Club Milk 5 Pack (120 g), which is currently for sale for €2.50.
