A new £69 reversible jacket available at M&S has divided opinion with some shoppers calling it "drab" and like something found in a 'local charity shop'. On Wednesday (1 February), the retailer released a promotional video on its official Facebook page showcasing the quilted two-way piece and sparked a big online response, with more than 100 comments.
The model wore the collarless jacket, which is bright sage green on one side and crafted from cosy white borg fabric on the reverse. The quilted side features water-repellent Stormwear™ technology with patch pockets with slit pockets on the reverse.
In the video, the recycled jacket is styled over a calf length floral dress with white cowboy ankle boots and a beige knitted tie-front sweater vest. The model shows how the item can be versatile by showing the jacket one way, then the other, over the same outfit.

Not everyone was a fan of the look or the jacket however. Theresa Stephens said: "That’s a frumpy look. Looks like she’s been shopping at her local charity shop."
Rosalind Davies added: "Drab and old-fashioned. Come on M & S, you can do better than that!!"
Diana Harvey said: "Even my Gran wouldn't wear that." A man also remarked on the comments of the woman's fashion item to say: "Lots of people complaining. Oh dear, lost the plot M&S."
Not all comments were negative however. One person added that they thought the pink version, which is actually in the shade Antique Rose, was much nicer.
Some Facebook users simply loved the quirky look. One woman asked in reference to the charity shop comparison: "What’s wrong with that? Lots of people shop at thrift stores especially young people.
Ava Lyne added : "Love the look" while Lynne Coleman said: "I've seen it in my local store and it's lovely."
The jacket, part of the M&S collection, is priced at £69 and can be found in store and on the M&S website.
