Doughnut lovers can bag a dozen Krispy Kremes for less this Friday as the retailer celebrates its 85th birthday - but only if you know the secret code. A dozen doughnuts is usually around £16, but the bakery brand is encouraging shoppers to wish them a Happy Birthday and get them cheaper.
As it’s their 85th birthday, customers can get 12 doughnuts for £8.50 but heading to a Krispy Kreme retail shop and stating the ‘password’ on July 15.
The offer includes the Original Glazed Dozen, Hot Original Glazed Dozen and the Sharer Dozen and all customers need to do is wish Krispy Kreme staff a “Happy 85th Birthday” at the till.

Fans can also choose their 12 favourite doughnuts and make a Choose Your Own Dozen for almost half their usual cost, meaning you can pick up all your favourites and share them with friends and family over the weekend.
Not only that, but when you visit a Krispy Kreme Hotlight store, during Hotlight Hour - marked by the ‘Hot Now’ sign lighting up in red - you can get a free fresh-out-of-the-oven Original Glazed Doughnut with no purchase necessary. Consider it a birthday present from Krispy Kreme that can be enjoyed year-round.
Krispy Kreme was founded in 1937 by Vernon Rudolph, who began selling doughnuts to grocery stores. Romanced by the irresistible scent of doughnut-making drifting into the streets, passers-by asked if they could buy hot, fresh doughnuts. So, Rudolph cut a hole in an outside wall and began selling Original Glazed doughnuts directly to customers on the sidewalk.
The brand say customers purchase 1.3 billion Krispy Kreme doughnuts per year in the world and 1/3 of purchases given to others, with shoppers sharing their love through food.
In the 85 years since they launched, Krispy Kreme has evolved its menu to introduce a range of doughnut innovations - but has never changed the secret recipe of the Original Glazed doughnut, enjoyed by generations.
Krispy Kreme are encouraging those who snap up their £8.50 dozen - working out at 70p per doughnut - to tag them in a snap on Instagram using #KrispyKreme and tagging @krispykremeuk.
