A new deal has just launched which will see motorists able to claim £5 worth of free fuel at any pump station in the UK. Drivers who keep hold of their receipt will be able to claim £5 worth of fuel when filling up.
With train strikes planned in the run up to Christmas, many more people will be on the roads so this offer comes at a crucial time and will allow motorists to save money when topping up their tanks.
The average price of unleaded petrol in the UK is currently 154.57 pence per litre while diesel is at 177.75 pence per litre, according to the RAC.
In Manchester the cheapest place to fuel up right now is at Costco Petrol Station in Stretford, for Costco members only - their average price for unleaded is 139.9p. The second cheapest in Manchester is at Unbranded St Annes Service Station on Ashton Old Road, that's according to the PetrolPrices.com.
This new deal will allow motorists to get their fuel for even less, with the ability to claim £5 cash back on a £10 spend. TopCashback aims to help mitigate the cost of fuel by offering new members of its free site £5 cashback when they spend £10 or more at the pump.
This deal is valid from today until 11.59pm on December 22, 2022 so drivers will need to be sure to fill up, sign up, and upload a photo of their receipt during this time, in order to qualify and receive the cashback.
How to get the 'free' fuel
To claim the offer, new members of TopCashback simply follow the steps below:
- Spend a minimum of £10 on unleaded petrol, super unleaded petrol, or diesel at any UK petrol station.
- Retain your receipt when you pay for your fuel.
- Take a photo of your receipt that clearly shows the date, the fuel station name and fuel payment.
- Sign up to TopCashback via this link.
- Upload a photo of your receipt (either via the mobile site or desktop - not the TopCashback app) before 22nd December 11.59pm.
- £5 cashback will track in your TopCashback account within 7 days.
Shoppers must snap their receipt safely, do not use your phone while driving or on a forecourt. You may fold your receipt before snapping it to ensure that you can fit all of the above into the photo.
The offer is valid for new members of TopCashback only and new members must sign up through the exact link provided above. New members also must spend a minimum of £10 in order to receive £5 cashback.
Other ways to save money on fuel
Check for the cheapest fuel in your area
PetrolPrices.com is a super handy website that will inform you of the prices of petrol in your area. Create a free account and download their app so you can check local garages when you’re out and about too. Their website claims that you can save over £225 per year on unleaded, or over £158 per year on diesel.
Clean and maintain your car
Servicing your car may be an additional cost you need to budget for, but regular maintenance will help to prevent potential costlier problems at a later date. Follow what your manufacturer recommends but things like an oil change or replacing dirty air filters with clean ones, will help your engine to run more efficiently.
Check your tyres
Part of maintaining your car also means checking your tyres regularly. It’s essential this is done for safety reasons anyway but having the correct pressure will ensure your car is supported properly, extend the tread, and enhance fuel efficiency. Make sure you check the pressure and top up your tyres with air as needed.
