Police in Cardiff are looking for a man after a shop worker was threatened at knife point during a robbery in Llanishen. South Wales Police confirmed they were called to The Local on the corner of Station Road and Kimberley Terrace at around 6:20am this morning (Monday, June 19).
An unknown male threatened a member of staff with knife and stole packets of cigarettes after failing to get cash from the till. Officers are now doing CCTV and house and house enquiries to identify the suspect. Police say the suspect was wearing a hoody, a balaclava and either gloves or socks on his hands.
Detective Inspector Tim Jones of South Wales Police said: “Convenience stores play a vital role in our communities, and we will not tolerate them being targeted in this way. Thankfully, no one was hurt but this was a frightening incident for the member of staff, and we are doing everything we can to find the person responsible.”
