Gunmen shout 'give us our money' before 'kicking down door' and shooting man
Two gunmen were reportedly heard shouting "give us our money" before forcing their way into a house and shooting a man in the leg in the shadow of Anfield stadium.

The victim was heard screaming after the violent scenes inside a property on Norgate Street, Anfield, in the early hours of today (Tuesday, August 2). This morning a house on the corner with Sleepers Hill was cordoned off by police, with shattered front windows and black marks covering the front door.
Merseyside Police confirmed emergency services were called to the scene at 3.25am after reports of shots being fired, and found a man with gunshot wounds to his leg inside a property. He was rushed to hospital where he is being treated for serious but not life-threatening injuries.
Traffic chaos as Royal Mail van crash closes road and causes fuel spill
A major road closed after a three vehicle crash involving a Royal Mail van resulted in a fuel spillage.
Merseyside Police were called to reports of a three vehicle crash on the junction of Riverside Drive and Bempton Road in Otterspool at around 2.50pm today, Tuesday, August 2. The incident involved a Mitsubishi, Nissan Juke and a Royal Mail van.
There were no reports of any serious injuries at the scene. But the road remains closed in both directions following reports of a fuel spillage.
Suspect named after £70,000 container stolen from Port of Liverpool
A man has been charged after a shipping container and its contents were stolen from the Port of Liverpool.
Peter Willans appeared before Liverpool Magistrates’ Court this morning and denied the offences. Callum Bryce, prosecuting, said a theft from the Port of Liverpool was reported on January 20 this year and saw a total of £70,000 of goods stolen by a man, who prosecutors say was Willans, driving an HGV.
The court heard the load in the container had a value of £56,000 while the shipping container and its trailer were of around £14,000 in value. Willans, from Batley in West Yorkshire, was later charged with theft.
