Shooting in US: One killed during opening of Nipsey Hussle's Marathon Burger

Police in Long Beach are investigating a deadly shooting that took place near a restaurant linked to late rapper Nipsey Hussle during its grand opening, authorities said on Sunday.

The shooting was reported at around 3:32 pm on the 200 block of Pine Avenue, according to the Long Beach police department. Officials said multiple people were shot. One person later died from their injuries, while two others are in stable condition.

The incident happened during the opening of Marathon Burger, a fast-food chain started by Hussle and his family. The restaurant was developed by Samiel Asghedom, Hussle’s brother, to continue the Marathon brand after the rapper was shot and killed in 2019. The outlet is known for its smash burgers.

Police have not announced a motive and have not shared details about a suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
