A shooter fled a south Dublin road after multiple shots were fired this morning.
Gardai rushed to Margaret Kennedy Road just off Donore Avenue in Dublin 8 after they received reports of gunshots - but a car sped away once they arrived.
They received calls from concerned locals at around 11:45am and raced to the scene.
No injuries have been reported, but shocked residents told Dublin Live that they heard multiple shots fired this morning outside their homes.
The road remains sealed off for examination and anyone with information is urged to call Kevin Street Garda Station.
Today's shooting is the second in nine months after another incident last April.
A lone gunman fired shots at a house while a number of people stood in the garden on April 13 2021.
The shooter fired three shots just after 5pm before fleeing the scene on foot, but thankfully nobody in the garden was injured.
A garda spokesman said: "At approximately 11.45am Gardaí received reports of a firearm being discharged at Donore Ave, Dublin 8.
"It’s understood those involved had fled the scene in a car on arrival of Gardaí. There are currently no reports of any injuries.
"The scene is preserved for examination. Anyone with information is asked to contact Kevin Street Garda Station 01 6669400."
