The Los Angeles Angels had a terrible Fourth of July, which began with them putting Mike Trout on the injured list with a broken hand and ended with them watching Shohei Ohtani walking off the field with the team’s trainer after being forced to be pulled from his start with a blister on his pitching hand.
Ohtani gave up back-to-back home runs in the bottom of the sixth inning and then on his next pitch it was clear he couldn’t go on any more, as it came nowhere near his target and went bouncing off the screen behind home plate.

Ohtani said after the game that he probably won’t pitch in next week’s MLB All-Star Game, which is a bummer.
Hopefully he’s back on the mound soon because he’s just the coolest player in baseball history.
